There’s a story to be told at this house in New Town, it’s one we all know really well, but this version of the story has a scary twist. The Wizard of Oz was always scary in parts, but this yard is scary in ALL parts! Start on the left to meet Dorothy, at home on the farm, living her best life with the chickens and farm animals. The tornado comes (look for the tornado twirling on top of the house) and drops a house on the Wicked Witch of the East, killing her, and leaving her Ruby Slippers up for grabs! Dorothy has a decision to make and the Munchkins are all there to help her. Look for the Lullaby League, the Lollypop Guild, and the signs pointing Dorothy down The Yellow Brick Road! Glinda the Good Witch of the North is there with bubbles at her feet to instruct Dorothy on what her task will be... Wandering down the Yellow Brick Road (which you must do!) you’ll meet the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion. They all join you on your journey to OZ, to meet the Wizard, and find your way home! There’s even a Flying Monkey, and the Wicked Witch of the West! All of this comes with music and fog and bubbles and a great time!
The owners of this small 1/1-2 story home make the most of their front yard & 2 side yards & walkway & porch & roof to offer a very spooky Halloween display. They have a few giant animated characters unique among the 22+ residences my wife & I have visited in the last 10 days, and many more "classics" of all sizes covering every square foot of property space available. Excellent lighting throughout enhances the display, and a very welcoming pair of Halloween-themed arches flanked by scary guardians leading visitors to the front door. This house should draw a large crowd of trick or treaters this year, and their parents will get a kick out of it as well.
